Though originally released on gaming consoles in 2012, Resident Evil 6 as one of the most highly anticipated PC games of 2013.

The action-packed horror survival tycoon has been one of the key franchises to set the standard in the genre. They have even taken to calling it 'dramatic horror', though they still list it out as survival horror and action.

In this installment of the series, we get to enjoy some familiar faces, including Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Ada Wong. We also get to meet Jake Muller, Albert Wesker's bastard son.

In it you can play as all of the aforementioned, with a partner, which can be played or have AI stand in as another player. Each has its own storyline, which intersects with the other characters' stories as it progresses. It gives the player a more in-depth look at how some of the most iconic Resident Evil characters lives have changed, as well as what they must do to continue their fight against the bioterrorism that still plagues - haha - their world.

It also introduces new gameplay mechanics, which include running while sliding and shooting, and rolling in all directions. While not huge game changers, it was a nice touch to see that developers continue to strive to improve gameplay.

The game received its fair share of criticism for not being a true survival horror game as well as the way the stories were interwoven. However, as a fan of the series, I gave it a chance and was not disappointed. I would say that I'm in the majority, as it is currently Capcom's second best-selling game.

Pros:

Interesting storyline

Beautiful graphics

Cons:

The game's 'interwoven campaigns' are annoying

Many feel that it didn't live up to the 'survival horror' tag
